Five O'Clock Tea of Crypto
A fortnightly meeting with a dash of crypto
E1 1, Conference Room 2.18 |
Description
The "Five O'Clock Tea of Crypto" (5TC) takes place roughly every second
week on Tuesday, 5pm in the conference room 2.18, E1 1.
It is an informal get-together for students interested in crypto or
security, with the possibility to chat with me (Dominique)
or other interested students. (I will always be present during the 5TC
to answer your questions.)
No matter whether you have specific crypto-related questions in mind,
or whether you would just like to come and chat (or whether you just
wish to grab cookies and tea), feel free to come to the 5TC.
Check our calendar
for the exact dates.
Questions and Answers
- I am not sure whether I know
enough about crypto. What do I need to know to join the 5TC?
There are no requirements. Come and have a look. No-one will require
you to say anything, so you can just listen and judge for yourself.
- I have some specific
crypto-questions. Is the 5TC the right place to ask?
Certainly. Of course, some questions are too "big" to be completely
answered during the 5TC, but I will always try to give a satisfactory
answer. But see also the next point.
- My question is related to some
detail in a lecture / the solution of some homework. Is the 5TC the
right place to ask?
No. Such a detail question would be better placed with your tutor or
lecturer. But questions that put something you learned in a lecture
into a bigger context, and questions that go beyond the lecture, are
welcome.
- I am not really into crypto, but
the 5TC seems nice, and I would like to meet people. Can I come?
Yes. But, of course, chats about crypto-related topics will take
priority during the 5TC.
- I am not a student of the
university. Can I come?
Yes.
- Can I get credits for the 5TC?
No. The 5TC is intended for sharing knowledge, but it is not a formal
part of your curriculum.
